On the last night of budget talks March 16 county supervisors voted down a surprise motion from Supervisor Juli E. Briskman (D-Algonkian) to give the next board another $5,000 raise on top of the $5,000 already approved in January.

The Board of Supervisors on March 7 adopted a new ordinance prohibiting private ownership and breeding of some exotic and venomous species of animals—including wolf hybrids, kangaroos, scorpions, baboons, alligators, venomous snakes and other venomous reptiles, and non-native venomous spiders.

Striking Loudoun Transit employees will return to work Monday, March 20, the Amalgamated Transit Union has announced, despite not yet winning all the concessions they have pushed for from county transit contractor Keolis North America.

Loudoun County Commissioner of the Revenue Robert S. Wertz Jr. is accepting applications from nonprofit organizations seeking an exemption from Loudoun County real and/or personal property taxes for 2024. The deadline to apply is Monday, April 3.

Loudoun County will host a Housing Choice Voucher Landlord Workshop on Wednesday, March 29 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the offices of the Loudoun County Department of Housing and Community Development, 106 Catoctin Circle SE in Leesburg.
