Supervisor Koran T. Saines (D-Sterling) is partnering again with Enroll Virginia to provide free, one-on-one in-person assistance for Sterling residents who need help enrolling in or renewing a health insurance plan through the Affordable Care Act Marketplace or Healthcare.gov.
Enroll Virginia estimates that tens of thousands of people in Northern Virginia, who are eligible for free coverage through recent Medicaid expansion, remain uninsured. Open enrollment is the only time that most consumers can purchase individual insurance for 2020. Virginians have until Dec. 15 to apply for premium assistance, review their health plan options, and to enroll in a plan during open enrollment.
Enrollment events will take place by appointment only at the Sterling Library on Nov. 22, Dec. 6, and Dec. 13.
To schedule an appointment, call 571-572-2521. Individuals are welcome to stop by and ask questions; however, walk-ins are not guaranteed assistance due to limited space. The Sterling Library is located at 22330 S. Sterling Blvd.
