Bluemont Fair Celebrates 50 Years This Weekend

A half century ago, Bluemont town leaders looking for a way to pay for street lights came up with the idea for a community fair that would usher in the fall season. Today, the Bluemont Fair is one of the most popular annual events in Loudoun, drawing visitors from around the region to the village at the base of Snickers Gap in the Blue Ridge.

On Saturday and Sunday, the Community Center grounds and the entire village will come alive with music, crafts, activities, and food offerings. This year’s fair will feature a number of special events in celebration of the milestone anniversary, including a ceremony at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Community Center, followed by a performance by Beatles cover band Apple Core.
