First Loudouner Pursues ‘Survivor’ Prize

After 37 seasons of the pioneering reality show “Survivor,” viewers in Loudoun will finally have a hometown contestant to cheer on when the Edge of Extinction premiers this week.

Ashburn resident Reem Daly is among the 14 castaways who were transported to Fiji to battle it out in the month-long competition for the season’s $1 million prize.

Daly’s experience in sales is likely to play a role in her quest, as well as her 18 years of watching the cut-throat challenge play out on her TV screen.

At age 47, she’s the oldest contestant this season.

In her introduction on the Survivor website, she describes herself as inquisitive, tenacious and energetic.

“My social game is amazing and, although I am honest to a fault, I know when to chill,” she stated. “I’ve been watching since 2000—I trust no one. Words mean zero to me. Actions speak louder!”

“Survivor” airs Wednesday nights on CBS.
