In what most were calling the Game of the Year, Heritage traveled across town to Riverside High School for a clash of the titans on October 9 in Leesburg. The game was very fast paced as both teams highlighted their athleticism. However, after a fast start, the scoring slowed down in the second half as Riverside reigned victorious, defeating the Pride, 4-1, and taking sole possession of first place in the Dulles District.
“This win was so big for us,” Riverside junior midfielder Amelie Fieser said. “Coming back from a loss last night, this really boosts our confidence for the future.”
