Northern Virginia BPW Plans Town Hall on Improving Community-Police Relationships

The Northern Virginia Business and Professional Women’s Club will hold a town hall meeting in Ashburn on Tuesday on the topic of building positive relationships with law enforcement.

Organizers say the goal of the program at Stone Bridge High School is to share best practices that have shown to build positive relationships between local law enforcement and the communities they serve. The event is scheduled for 6-9 p.m.

Featured panelists are economist, author and commentator Julianne Malveaux; Wendall T. Fisher, the supervisor of the Office of Outreach for Loudoun County Public Schools; the Rev. Dr. Jeffrey O. Johnson of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church; Ken Coopword Sr., the founder of Coopwood Progressive Workshops & Developments; Leesburg Police Chief Gregrory C. Brown; attorney Daniel P. Watkins; and Brandt Welch, vice chairman for Community Relations at the University of Virginia.
