County to Dedicate Madison Small Softball Complex Saturday

Loudoun County will remember Madison Small with a ceremony dedicating the Madison Small Softball Complex at Trailside Park Saturday morning.

Supervisors voted in March to named two softball fields at Trailside Park, where Small played for years, in her honor.

Small was a longtime softball player in Loudoun, including in the Ashburn Girls Softball League and on Broad Run High School’s varsity team. Her sudden death of a meningitis infection shocked the community, which rallied together to support the family. Her jersey number, 24, appeared on cars, armbands, social media, and in the dugout at Broad Run High School.

The dedication will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, October 8 at Trailside Park, 20375 Claiborne Parkway in Ashburn.
