Suspect Sketch Released in Sterling W&OD Trail Attack

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office has released a composite sketch of a suspect involved in the Aug. 17 attempted sexual assault on the W&OD Trail in Sterling.

The incident was reported on Tuesday. The adult female victim said she was walking on the trail just east of Sterling Boulevard around 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 17 when two men came out of a wooded area and attacked her. The men grabbed her and pulled at her clothing. The suspects fled the scene after a cyclist rode by.

The suspect in the composite sketch was described as a black male, 6 feet 2 inches tall with a thin build, black curly hair and wearing a black shirt. The second suspect was also described as a black male and was said to be slightly shorter with a thin build. He also had black curly hair and was wearing a gray shirt. Both suspects were said to be in their 30s.

There is no indication that the case is related to an attempted assault that occurred this week on the trail in Leesburg.
