It’s the Last Day of School for 80,000 Loudoun Students

Look out, summer. Here they come.

Close to 80,000 kindergarten through high school students will wrap up the 2015-2016 academic year today.

Most Loudoun schools are celebrating the end of classes and the beginning of the summer break with special events. To name a few: Buffalo Trail Elementary in Ashburn will send off its students with a Hawaiian-themed party; Stone Hill Middle School in Brambleton will mark the final school day with its inaugural STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) Day; and students at Newton-Lee Elementary in Ashburn should brace for a water fight with teachers and parents.

Most students in Loudoun are out of school for the next 11 weeks. The 2016-2017 school year begins on Monday, Aug. 29, for the Loudoun County Public Schools and most area private schools.

It’s graduation week in Loudoun. See the Stone Bridge commencement ceremony in photos here. See the full schedule of commencement ceremonies here.
