Two Arrests Made in Leesburg Stabbing Investigation

Two Leesburg men have been arrested in connection with the Nov. 13 stabbing on Plaza Street.

Jose Roel Guevara Machado, 21, of Leesburg was arrested Monday and charged with aggravated malicious wounding and stabbing in the commission of a felony.

Josue Jeremias Cruz Gonzalez, 20, also of Leesburg was arrested Nov. 16 and charged with aggravated malicious wounding. Both men were ordered to be held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center without bail.

The arrests stem from a fight that broke out near 75 Plaza Street Friday, Nov. 13. Police arrived just after 9:30 p.m. and found that multiple people attacked a 20-year-old man, leaving him with lacerations to his head, neck and arms. He was transported by ambulance to the hospital for treatment.

The police department’s Street Crimes Unit determined that Gonzalez and Machado were involved in the attack.

Gonzalez was also cut multiple times on his hands, according to Lt. Jeffrey A. Dubé, with Leesburg Police.

“It was a violent incident,” he said.

Investigators do not know what prompted the attack, Dubé said. “We’re still looking into it. We know there were several suspects involved, and the case is still under investigation.”
